Pig at the Fair

Lexy worked so hard this summer! We are so proud of her, we really did not have much of an idea as to what we had gotten ourselves into but she stuck it out and we all had a great time. Originally we had thought that Amanda would help, but she was a little overwhelmed and decided that she would wait another year. After seeing the start (picking out the pig) to finish (sale of the pig) she is very excited to try next year.

Here are some photos of this years events, pig pen and sale of Blue.

 293 pound pig and Lexy!

Ready in her white 4-H shirt (really white around animals- bad joke!)

The weigh in........(this is a big deal, everyone stands around and watches to see if their animal made the cut. If they are under 240 pound you can not show them)
Lexy during showmanship, the men with the red bucking boards break up the pig fights and believe me, we saw a few!
Saturday morning auction... and he sold for $3.00 a pound. Not too bad for her 1st year. The all around show winner received $12/ pound!!!
