15 Years Ago......

On this day 15 years ago I woke up to the sound of a phone ringing, it was the front desk of the Hyatt Regency, Denver Tech Center, with my "wake up" call. This was THE DAY, the one you will never forget, Our Wedding Day! I left 3 sleeping friends as I went to get my hair and nails done with Mom & Mom-in-law. Only to return to a flurry of ladies getting ready. We had to be at the church by one for pictures before the service at three. As I tried to eat lunch I wondered if everything was going to turn out just right???? But that thought only lasted a moment because we had too much to do. I remember being on top of the world, almost floating thru the rest of the day it was so wonderful. I remember walking down the isle, only for my husband and praying together before everyone arrived. I remember the long kiss and embrace on stage at the front of the church that made everyone in the crowd laugh. I remember it being the hottest day of summer that year in Denver at 106. I remember our limo breaking down, several times on the way to the church and the reception because it kept overheating. Also, all the family and friends we were able to share this special day with!!!

And lastly I remember each one of our beautiful children that we have added to this special union and look forward to the many more years we will be blessed with!

Horses, Horses and More Horses

A Quick Trip

After dragging my feet all month long...I decided we needed to take a trip to my Mom & Dad's in Dixie. The last visit to Silver Spur Lodge was in March of 2007, a 24 hour drive from our house in Thornton, CO. So the 12 hour drive from Reno seemed like a cake walk, RIGHT?!?

So on Saturday, July 25th we decided, the kids and I, to get in the van and make the treck. It all went well and even though we could not stay very long, only until the following Thursday, we had a great time.

Currently, both of my brothers, Jason & Kevin are living in Dixie, ID. with my parents working the family business. The kids had a blast seeing their Uncles and Nanny & Papa, fishing, swimming, riding 4 wheelers and tending to the horses & mules. Hudson (3) even learned that a mule is half donkey/half horse and that he should tell everyone he meets!

Skunk Harbor

June has not been very warm here in Nevada. In fact each day is a toss of the dice... we rolled well today though!







Our neighbor friends, the Geislers, were in town for a week and we decided to hike into Skunk Harbor on the East shore of Lake Tahoe. It looked like we would get rained on but we packed a lunch and hoped for the best. As it turns out we had beautiful sunshine and a great time! Crawdad catching and swimming were in order but the water was still pretty cold.



It was a balancing game as to how long we could stay, since we could not wear the kids out too much because the hike out is 1 1/2 miles uphill and I was not about to carry anyone!

A June Storm A Brewing

Lexy wanted to capture the incoming storm. We had lots of fierce wind and tons of rain.

Picnic at the Beach

After our field trip we had a picnic lunch at the local beach, it is actually right over the border in California. But the kids had tons of fun.

Now granted the water is only about 52 degrees, it takes your breath away just to step in!

Tahoe Study Center

This was a fun field trip we went on with some fellow homeschoolers to UC Berkley's Tahoe Center for learning. It is located in Incline Village, NV on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The kids had a blast and we learned a lot about the clarity, phytoplankton and non-native species in Lake Tahoe.
